Reframing Museums: A Louvre Abu Dhabi and NYU Abu Dhabi Symposium

Louvre Abu Dhabi and NYUAD – two major players in the world of art and culture – convened a joint symposium that brought together 73 experts, moderators and facilitators from across the globe. Building on the synergies and shared questions facing institutions across the humanities, these speakers and audiences explored what kind of museums we were building for the future and what role they could play in the next generations. This publication captures the essence of those fruitful discussions, shining a light on a museum’s role in this rapidly changing world as well as on its three traditional pillars of collection, people and building.
